Carpegna is set within the largest Turkey-oak forest in Europe, the Sasso Simone and Simoncello Nature Park. We are in Montefeltro, 750 m above sea level, in the borderland between Emilia-Romagna, Marche and Tuscany.

The salty air of the nearby Adriatic meets the resinous currents of the Montefeltro hills. The climate is dry and the air — crisp and typical of the foothills — carries a surprising scent of the sea.
